Hill was commissioned by the University of Cambridge to develop housing in the north-west of the city. This first phase of the ‘North West Cambridge Development’ was to provide 249 new homes, ranging from studio apartments to detached 5 bedroom family houses.
As part of this varied development, Lockmetal was appointed by Hill Partnerships to provide detailed statement cladding for 107 new apartments, set in an attractive brick, multi-storey building.
On receiving the initial brief, we established an in-depth understanding of the scope of requirements and undertook comprehensive planning and design sessions to ensure our proposal met Hill Partnerships requirements in respect of quality, specification, accreditation, program and price.
It’s a project we are proud of. The development has delivered a huge number of distinctive and contemporary homes, all constructed to the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5 - helping to create a new sustainable urban quarter in the historic city of Cambridge.
